Vamos al cine! - El abuelo que salto de la ventana y se largo

3,90 euro movies! Wednesdays are the BEST!

This week I saw a Swedish film called, "El abuelo que salto por la ventana y se largo," which translates to, "The old man who jumped out of the window and disappeared." It is about a 100 year old man who always loved blowing things up throughout his childhood and adolescence. This led to his involvement in creating the atomic bomb and meeting various figureheads around the world to talk about it. With such an exciting life earlier on, the now 100 year old man still feels the need to go on adventures.

The man escapes from his convalescent home and embarks on an adventure with a few strangers. He mistakenly gets involved with a powerful gang and accidentally steals their suitcase full of $50,000,000, so you can imagine how that creates a bit of conflict.

The movie is based off of a Swedish novel that has gained international popularity:

Despite my enjoyment of the movie, many critics say that it is a pretty poor portrayal of the book.  Maybe I'll have to read the book next! Here's the trailer if you're interested:
